TAPS Names USAA Executive Brandon Carter to Board of Directors
Experienced Business Leader Serving Military Members and Their Families Joins the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) has named Brandon Carter to the organization’s board of directors. Carter is President of USAA Life Insurance Company and USAA Investment Management Company, overseeing the strategy and operations for product management, actuary, distribution, underwriting, servicing and claims, as well as USAA’s survivor relations team, which assists members after the loss of a loved one. Since 1997, he has held multiple executive leadership positions with USAA, providing insurance, banking, investment and retirement products and advice to current and former members of the U.S. military and their families.
In his current position, Carter leads the strategy to digitally transform the life, health and investment business for USAA and is focused on preserving USAA’s legendary service and commitment to its 13 million members, while maintaining employee well-being and financial strength. Carter also serves as Chairman of the LL Global Board of Directors, the parent company of LIMRA and LOMA. He is actively involved in the San Antonio community and is a member of the SAMMinistries Board of Directors, a nonprofit organization helping families prevent homelessness.
